This is the complete 6 disc (36 episode) Macross saga, the best series in the Robotech Series.
On sale at Fry's BM for 39.99. I bought mine at the Sunnyvale Fry's.

all the other dvd's they sell are always 24.95 each, why's anime so expensive, sure it may be imported but the cost of making it is far cheaper than a movie

It's sorta imported because it's manufactured locally. But you probably already knew that. It's expensive because the market for anime is small in the US so there's far fewer people to distribute the costs to.

Is this good at S. Cali Fry's as well?

If it is, then definitely HOT! Friend got whole series for over 100 when first came out on Amazon.com

Perhaps because it is like 6 discs and over 6 hours long.

No go at the Dallas Frys. Rings up at $49.99, and is stickered with that price too. They have some boxed Robotech sets at $34.99, but those are for 2-3 disc sets that do not include the entire saga.
