EDIT: n/m I'm thinking of a different vaccuum robot. I retract my former statement and cannot offer an opinion on the roomba

My grandma has one. Seems to keep her living room pretty clean, but it has to run every day to do so. Personally, I don't think it's worth the ~$150, but I don't mind running a vacuum every week.

That thing wouldn't last 30 minutes around my dogs. It would be in pieces scattered all over the house.

The local news station tested them out and while they did pick up some things, a lot of the "bigger" dirt was left and it took a long time to cover the entire room.

Just got one for my in-laws a week or so ago. Not sure if they've used it or not. Basically unless you really need it (health problems so you can't vacuum, etc) don't waste the money. It doesn't do anywhere near as good of a job as an actual vacuum cleaner because it's just not that powerful. It's good for in-between cleanings but not as a replacement.

Buy one from a local store (not online) and just try it and return it if you don't like it.

The Plain roomba is available lots of places, the Pro and Pro Elite are harder to find. The Pro Elite is a Sharper Image, Brookstone, and oen other store exclusive...

Good for getting hairballs. Might be worth $60 for someone who really wants one.
