Ouch, I apologize if it sounded like thread crapping. Next time I'll put quotes around it or link to the youtube vid. Thought most/everyone know of the line.

Thanks PottedMeat for the explanation and link.

No need to apologize. How a geek of any level, let alone a forum moderator, has gone through their entire life without becoming familiar with that quote is beyond me...

This. But they're only human like the rest of us. Hopefully they come back and apologize for their "ignorance". ;)

Nice deal. I think Best Buy also has the same offer.
Now I'll have to find a HotDeal for a 4K UHDTV and redray media player.

Haha. everything is cleared up now. :)

It was a good laugh, even for the lil unexpected trouble I didn't mean to cause.

Thanks everyone and squared!

Cheers

It isn't a 4k disk. Just remasted from 4k to 1080p.

Yes. Attaching the 4K moniker to this release just as actual-4K rolls out is only creating undue confusion.

Well the one good thing out of these remakes is proper re-releases of the Originals as the first Blu-Ray release was quite crappy.

I don' think all originals have the same resolution. Also film per sey is not a set resolution; it depends on the quality of the scanner and type of film/camera used (I think I've seen scanners that go well above 4K).

I wonder if they redid the sound track ?

So..just going to ask...doesn't anyone think that this version will look like crap? I've went back and watched this a few times (from the last blu-ray release) and while I still love the film, what made old special effects work was the fuzziness of lower resolutions...

I would be curious to see how this turns out.

If you went into Robocop in the first place expecting amazing effects, you're doing it wrong.

And as bad as the remake is going to be, I'm going to watch it. =(

They re-released the first Terminator with a better HD transfer and the second release is much better. So Robocop can still use some spit and polish. The effects aren't that bad? (Aside from
when Dick Jones falls out the window
) Otherwise the stop motion of ED-209 holds up well.

It will be interesting if the cut scenes have the grain removed or not? I personally didn't mind the grain of the deleted scenes as they were usually a violet scene and it gave the film an unintentional stylized look to them. I also hope they don't over DNR the image either.
