TMZ says asphyxiation. Hanging most likely, brutal. Same age as my dad too.

Unfortunately a lot of comics deal with depression and substance abuse.

that is sad as i was hoping he would outlive me. he was dx'd with bi-polar disorder and about 1/2 of those diagnosed with BD commit suicide.

The Fisher King is one of my all time favourite films. Will make me a bit sad every time I re-watch it now. R.I.P.

😱 :'( RIP. I really empathized with his emotionality... As someone who usually plays the stoic, I really felt good seeing him act out the level of passion some of us hide inside.

omg 🙁

he will forever live in my mind as the genie from aladdin

Browing IMBD to remember some of my favorites...

Night at the Museum (Teddy Roosevelt)
Happy Feet (Ramon/Lovelace)
Robots (Fender)
The Final Cut (Alan Hakman)
AI (Dr. Know)
Bicentennial Man (Andrew Martin)
What Dreams May Come (Chris Nielson)
Aladdin (Genie)
Mrs. Doubtfire (Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire)
Toys (Leslie Zevo)
Ferngully (Batty)
Hook (Peter Banning)
Jumanji (Alan Parrish)
Jack (Jack Powell)
Dead Poets Society (Jack Keating)
Mork & Mindy (Mork)

It's amazing how the death of someone you've never met can really put a dent on your day. Such an amazing dude 🙁

So sad... I've watched his stand up, which was brilliant, and loved so many of the roles he has played over the years both serious and funny.

The world is a less interesting place with him gone. :'(

Some of my favorite movies of his:

Good Will Hunting
Good Morning Vietnam
The World According to Garp
Dead Poets Society
Moscow On the Hudson
