Movie felt like a series of clips that were slapped together badly. I haven't seen a movie with a budget have editing this bad in... possibly ever. Did they film it and then change the plot and try to use the same scenes in a different order or something?

Yeah I know, it's essentially an origin story. One of the reviews I listened to said it was like having the entire Spiderman origin as a movie, then ending it right when he was bit by the spider, before he even gets the suit or anything.

The problem, as I see it (keep in mind I have yet to actually watch the film of course) is the film is essentially a period drama, with minimal amounts of action, and the drama is not all that compelling. I'm sure I will eventually see this, but it's not something I am really looking forward to all that much. Hopefully these lowered expectations will help me to enjoy the film.

I went in with very, very, low expectations, and perhaps that's why I enjoyed it. I thought it was going to be awful, and it really wasn't. I do agree that the drama isn't compelling, but there is more action than I expected (based on what I had heard). I just really liked the way it came together.

For the record, check out Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut if you haven't already. Smoothed out a lot and puts it on par with Gladiator IMHO.

I'll always like the Errol Flynn one the best. The Mel Brooks one is also good.

It'd be nice if they could do a really good modern Robin Hood. From what I hear the new one ain't good.

Anyone ever play the old Sierra adventure game "Conquest of the Longbow" ?

That was a phenominal Robin Hood game and told a good story too.

I want the wasted 2 hours of my life back.

I thought it was a really good movie. Well told and well acted. I especially loved the different plots within the movie. B+ all the way. The only reason it was not an A movie was because it was painfully slow in the beginning.

Kevin Costner's version was an afront to the Robin Hood legend. The new Russell Crowe movie is better by several orders of magnitude.

Oh wait, I dont give a shit. It was a terrible movie; boring as all hell and awful acting. and a pony charge of little kiddies at the end? Was that serious?

Nope. It's that horrible. The ending makes absolutely no sense either.
The whole film, Robin successfully mascarades as the son of Lord Locksley after the real Locksley dies and is buried by Robin in an unmarked grave. So how is it that John knows this in the end? God I hated that ending...
It seems that every damn period movie now needs a healthy dose of democratization into it.
