RIP. The Bee Gees were more than a "Disco group" as CNN called them, they had a lot of hits in the late 1960's and early 1970's before disco even came on the scene.

They were almost a completely different band in the early days. The dramatic change they made is second only to Fleetwood Mac.

Damn, that sounds a lot like early British pop rock & roll. Very reminiscent of early Beatles, Herman's Hermits, etc. I haven't heard any of their early stuff.

They're called a Disco band I think because Saturday Night Fever cemented them as one. It made them an icon of the era. Sad that we've lost two in one week.
 
Saw him in concert with his brothers years ago. They practically tore the place down with a simple ballad:
