<< whi is this person and why have i never heard of him >>

Dunno...he's been in a few movies and starred in at least 3 TV series.
Not to mention countless after-school specials and made-for-TV movies...

$5 says you've seen him but didn't know him.

Wow that sucks. Spencer was one of my favorite shows growing up. Wasn't Cisco from DS9 on that show too?

To help put things in perspective, he's also the Cybersonic Toothbrush ad spokesman. I think he also pitched for another toothbrush before this one. I'm sure everyone's seen at least one of those things...

That's very sad, seemed to put up a good fight while he could.

He was also in Lonesome Dove, good actor.

Yeah that was Avery Brooks, the guy who they should have cast as SHAFT instead of Samuel L. Jackson.

He was also in S.W.A.T. one of my favorite old shows . I hope Nick at Night plays something in tribute.

Yes. That's very sad. I recall there was at least 2 of his shows I watched when I was younger

that's sad. I thought he was doing pretty good recovering, but I guess it gets to you sooner or later. Cancer does suck
