<< paul oakenfold for when the sun is just starting to come over the horizen....safe travels🙂 >>

i'm not a big techno fan, what songs of his would you suggest for someone not totally in tune with the techno scene?

Holy crap, somebody else who likes Spearhead! I saw them twice this summer (I can't believe they came to New Orleans twice in less than 2 months!). The second time, I got to talk with Michael Franti for a little while after the show. Man, is he an amazingly cool and intelligent guy. I also met the DJ who opened for them, Karsh Kale. He's also on Six Degrees records.

---oakenfold is not technically techno but I know what you are saying😉 There are many good songs but with oakenfold you should look for sets...look for his set from miami florida; it is a classic...or try anything from ibiza (small island off of spain). PM me if you are seriously looking for his stuff and I will gladly send you some more titles to look for!

Hey! A fellow Spearist! Aren't their live shows simply the best? How was the opening act?

My favorite song: Rock the Nation

🙂

LaBang, the shows were amazing.

The opener for the first show was a local hiphop group, they weren't very good. But, later in the show, Spearhead brought out Coolbone (local brassband/hiphop group) for a few songs. That was amazing.

The opener for the second show was Karsh Kale. He was freaking amazing. He's an Asian Massive DJ...spins and plays the tablas.

I don't think I could pick a favorite song. 😉

Don't forget his first group The Disposable Hereos of Hiphoprhysy. I unfortunately have never had the chance to see him live.

a group called Bond, album is named Born, neo-classical music...a little strangesometimes, but great to listen to in the car...🙂

Music for the road:

Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand
Colony - Siren
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Rush - Signals
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
Queensryche - Empire
Sebadoh - Bakesale

Rather a motley group, but for some reason the highway just make these albums bloom.

Sounds like you need XM or Sirius satellite radio. Both of them have a good selection of stations to choose from. Unfortunately, neither of them are broadcasting now, and you need special hardware to receive the signal.

How about:
Garbage
The Dandy Warhols
