OK, so I've had RR/TWC for the past 3 or 4 months and it's been fine.... up until Wed. Suddenly, it decides to sort-of die - cable modem blinks out and continuously can't find a signal, and TV goes dead. Called tech, they said there was a disconnect order pending for the neighbors, it was canceled and pushed through on my address(!) instead.

They reconnected it in the system, TV comes back on... sort of. It's fuzzy and the internet is still out. Called back, scheduled a tech for thursday. Issue persists, FF to thursday night: tech comes out, does something, TV comes back on clear. By this time, I'm at work, unable to know what's going on (mom's home, signs for whatever), tech claims we needs another piece of CPE, and somebody will be out to install it Friday. I come home from work at 11:30, internet is on when it's not supposed to be. At 9:30 friday morning, it's dead again, and the TV is fuzzy. *sigh

Tech comes around 3, replaces the amp claiming the signal is too high on the return, everything's back on and working correctly for about 35 minutes. Tech is still out front at his truck, so I go out and get him, he comes in and checks the TV, then goes and unplugs the amp's power brick, and plugs it back in. Says "I guess the amp needed to be rebooted before it'd work right." *shakes head. He leaves, and it dies again shortly thereafter.

I'm at the point now, where I have to unplug/plug the amp every 20-30 minutes. Calling them again in a little bit and I'm going to ask very politely (yes, I mean it), to get this fixed, and fixed properly today. I don't care if they have to replace everything between the drop and the node.

Does anybody know what might be going on that's causing the amp to die and have to be powecycled all the time?

cliffs
1)RR/TWC fine for 3/4 mo till system screwup causes outage
2)tech fiddles with something, fixes TV, claims new amp is needed to get internets. net works anyway till early morning
3)tech replaces amp, works for 35m, then dies
4)power cycling amp fixes problem for 25-30m
5)still happening
6)wtf causing it?
7)tired of this mess
8)learn to goddamned read

all i know is they better adjust your bill accordingly and throw in some free time as well.

i had issues with roadrunner once and they appeased me with a free month which works out to $45.
