Roadrunner or Earthlink cable?

I can get 6mo for $29.95/mo, $41.95 thereafter (Earthlink) or $44.95 thereafter (RR)..granted, I'd probably switch again when the time comes..but between the two of them, which should I go for? Both are 5Mbps down (unsure on the upstream).

so earthlink would cost less

there you go

$3/less per month after the 6-month period is up..I'd probably end up finding another ISP then. 😛

it's the same infrastructure. I've had Earthlink Cable now for the past 3 or 4 years now with nary a problem. Get EL, no point in spending more for the same thing.

RR is better, but its too damn expensive

Hows it better? they both use the SAME network. Only diff. is the name and price. I got Earthlink as it was a couple bucks cheaper. Heck the bill even comes from Time Warner.

Earthlink throttles your bandwidth if you use too much.
I had Earthlink and I really liked it, till all of a sudden I started to get really, really bad download bandwidth. I thought it was a problem, so I called Earthlink's support number and was informed by their tech support that I had exceeded their bandwidth limit and had been throttled to 56k.
I cancelled their service the next month.
They refused to accept my cancellation, and kept billing me.
I had to fight them for almost 6 months to get them to accept my cancellation.
I will never do business with that company again.

Earthlink has the worst customer service
Took me a year to cancel my services and they still keep trying to bill me for dial... which I never had 😕

you do know there is no differnce... EL uses the exact same lines as TW.. when I used to install cable modems here in houston for TW when i did EL installs the only diffence was which software welcome kit to give.. so its just the price/package that matter... when you call for service its still TW/RR you call and just get dumped in the EL queue.

Earthlink here and I would never use RR.

Time Warner primarily offers RR here but you can get Earthlink if you subscribe to Earthlink directly. RR and Earthlink are through TW's lines. I have friends that have RR and those that have Earthlink. The ones (myself included) with Earthlink hardly ever have any down time while those with RR complain about theirs going out all the time.

I've never had my bandwidth throttled through Earthlink so maybe it's not throttled in all markets. Maybe the service is all just about where you live.

Well, I tried to get Earthlink..apparently TW and Earthlink don't cooperate with each other up here, so I had to order RoadRunner. I spoke with a 'direct sales' person at the local office..she gave me free setup, $29.95/6mo, $34.95 for the next 6..then it goes to the regular $44.95/mo price. By then, I'll try to find another deal. 😛

Anyway..a week from tomorrow. I have to make sure I'm around to prevent the tech from installing AOL on my system when he runs the cable line..
