Yeah so, I saw it opening night and while the movie was a bit slow, it was an awesome movie. I guarentee it at least one oscar.

Well it's not a typical Tom Hanks roll at least.

It's not that far off, either. Sure, his title in the movie is Mob Enforcer, but he never does anything bad on-screen. Well, anything unjustifiable anyway, as killing people is generally considered bad.

as with the best picture in years...if u compare it to "Best Picture" of the last 6 years i'd say its #1...(A beautiful mind, gladiator, american beauty, shakespeare in love, titanic, and the english patient)

How's it compare to Forrest Gump?

i dont think you can really compare these two movies.

I thought so too, like when Conner gives Micheal that letter to deliver, you knew what to expect.

all in all i thought it was the best movie i have seen in a recent memorey.. i saw it yesterday, might see it agian. i would definatley recomened it, 4/5 stars.

Maybe I have no taste but I really regret paying to see it in a theater. I couldn't justify paying a few bucks to rent it either.
Perhaps I was expecting too much, but I walked away very disappointed.

I thought it was a good movie. A bit predicatble though. I knew exactly what was going to happen in the end as soon as he walked in the house. I also knew exactly what his sons last line was going to be "he was my fater." No joke, I whispered it to a friend before it was said.

But overall it was good and worth seeing. But I thought Minority Report was a better movie.

I honestly didn't expect that. I guess I thought he and Rooney were too "tight" for him to do that...

Atmosphere & Cinematography - 10/10
Acting - 8.5/10
Screenplay, Direction, Story - 1/10
Overall - 6/10

there were somethings that were very very lame in the movie.....ok movie..should watch once for the atmosphee, some acting looked forced and artificial
