Road Test: 2003 Lincoln Aviator [Baby Navigator]

LOL, the interior looks very nice and clean too.

You as the SUV hater?

SUV hater?? I'm proclaimed the SUV nut around here...afterall I do take up for them whenever someone bashes them. The only ones that I look down on are the big suburbans and excursions.

A Suburban gets about the same gas mileage(14/18) as this thing(13/19), at least according to Edmunds.

Doesn't the Navigator cost like 60k fully loaded?

I wonder how many Lincoln sells a year.

SUV are not the problem it is the dumba$ses that drive them. To many soccer mom's that are to busy talking on their cell phones to look in their mirros to see if they cut anyone off make that lane change.

If one more of these people almost kills me, I am going to get a Unimog.

Don't go throwing away those Lexus brochures just yet, but don't be surprised if you drive this newest Lincoln and come away thinking that maybe it's finally time to buy American again.

Do they just assume that no one drives American anymore?

I would LOVE to see that!

Nice truck. SUV's are THE reason american car companies are still in business, so I guess they figure we need another one.

What we need is an oil crunch to finish off the US automakers. They were dethroned by one oil crunch because they were building gas guzzling land yachts. Of course now history is repeating itself.

Why don't you go spout that up in Detroit as the UAW are leaving work for the day. I'm sure they would be happy to hear you say that.

LOL! I think that's Chapter One of my new book: Getting the Crap Beaten Out of You for Dummies.

What we need is further expansion of the low-wage tech industry in Asia, so that the rest of you techie sh|theads that haven't been laid off due to the tech industry collapse of 2000 can finally lose your jobs and starve to death. Your bad body odor, atrocious fashion sense, and poor social skills will not be missed.

I wouldn't be so quick to flame the idea of an oil crunch. It would spur progress for more efficient vehicles, which benefits consumers in the long run. With a finite supply of fuel to begin with, it is irresponsible to be driving vehicles which consume so much fuel. If fuel were more costly, it would create a greater demand for efficiency, and domestic auto manufacters would conform to the new trend by pouring more R&D $$$'s into efficient motor design. However with the agenda of the current political administration, I doubt this will happen anytime soon, so everyone run out and and buy a Navigator, it's the American way.
