How are your pings guys? I have Hell Atlantic DSL right now and they seemed to have upgraded the network. My pings go into the 40s sometimes. Still hate them so I'm definitely switching to something else.

RR here in Central NY- it's sweet. I've had 4 outages in over a year. 2 were about 20 minutes, 2 were while they were doing work on my neighborhood's node (i think they capped upload :() for like 2-3 hours on 2 consecutive days.

They are awesome!

Have it and love it.. Havne't experienced any downtimes.. but i've only had it for 2 weeks..

Reading the local RR newsgroups, the only problem in my area (San Antonio) are the newsgroups.. they're trying to upgrade.. but I rarely use newsgroups so don't really care.

Cox RR here in Fairfax, VA for roughly 18 months now. I can count the number of outages *I* noticed on one hand. Never really had many speed problems once connected. OK, maybe I did ... once.

I am getting RR installed on 3/9.

Right now, Verizon DSL is working exceptionally well for me. My speeds are as advertised but my pings are in the 40-50s. But I am switching because I can't bear the thought of Verizon getting any more of my money.

hey doggie,
can you tell us what the installation procedure and costs are? I saw on their website something about a $69 installation fee to install the modem and software. That sounds like a ripoff... do you have to do this?

thanks again.

I love it. Even serve some web sites through it. Going to be moving soon to a place that only has dial up right now. :( The town I am planning to build a house in has dsl, adsl, and is about to run fiber to each house.

I've had it since last July, no problems (ever), super fast and I'm an LPB gaming (when I do that). Might seem odd to some of you but I don't play games online now as much as I did years ago but when I do, especially UT, I'll clean house in no time mostly due to my low ping as I don't consider myself as being a great gamer really. Can't beat file DL times either, what use to take hours with my old 56K modem now only takes minutes.

I have RR and I like it...all the costs, installations, monthly fees, etc. vary greatly with the city that you are in. In some cities you have to have cable, some you dont, some have free install, some dont..just depends on how greedy your cable company is.

I have AT&T Broadband, formerly RoadRunner and it's decent. Downloads are fast, but ping times can get downright horrible at night. I pay $40 a month, had free installation, and uhh.. free something to boot. :)

Its pretty decent in upstate NY, although they're cracking down on the bandwidth now, but they aren't lowering prices, figures. Another stupid thing is that they charge you 10 bucks a month for every extra computer you want to use with the service. You can have 80 TV's hooked up on one cable line, and they don't care, I don't see how it would be different for RR. Anyways, if you have more than one computer, then your better off getting a broadband router to split the signal.
