Yet another "I got bullied IRL, talk about it on internet" case.

Anime avatar, not surprised.

Exactly. So he started cutting you off for no reason?

Huh?, I was just sayin there had to be some kind of incident before they got to the stop sign..OK, now I see OP has edited and added story and I will now interpret it, OP sped up to prevent the merge, other dude got PO at him for not letting him in and no one can hock a luger that far, trust me, I'm a smoker and smokers hock huge ones on occasion..

OP, this makes me think of that phrase "if you can't tell who the sucker is, then its you", my guess is you're a shitty driver or did something stupid and don't think its a big deal or don't even know you did something wrong. I know, no one thinks they are bad drivers, but in my personal anecdotal experience, probably 1/4 of the people driving shouldn't be.

However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and guess the other guy could have been the shitty driver and also a raging asshole, since he definitely is the latter part.

A friend had this happen (not me) and with the license plate number, he contacted Motor Vehicle to get the dudes name and address (again, not me). Using his wife’s vehicle (in case the guy remembered his vehicle) drove over very late one evening and vandalized this dude’s car. I can't remember exactly what he scratched on both sides of his car and hood, but it wasn't pleasant (again, not me). Since this wasn't me, I can say I don't condone violence or vandalism.

"Your friend" is a chicken shit bastard and I'm pretty sure you can't do that in just about any fucking state, so either its made up garbage or someone abused their job privileges or knew someone that had access and had them do it.

bump with full story for people who can't believe I didn't do anything to instigate this. Try driving in Boston some time and you will realize that trouble finds you, you don't find trouble when driving.

True, Storrow drive is like a mini-NASCAR event at times LOL. I moved from the area some time ago but even back then it was a huge hassle to find parking and aggressive driving was rampant. I would usually wind up using the T, less hassle in the long run..

Should have coasted up to his bumper, then push his car into the intersection.

Road Rage is getting worse, much worse.

Just yesterday I pulled out of my driveway. There was a car coming fairly slowly, and there was plenty of space and time to pull out (that's what she said). I live two houses down from a stop sign so traffic has to slow down anyway.

After he gets through the stop sign he races up behind me and tailgates my for a few blocks, mouthing expletives I can see in my rear view mirrror.

I guess he figured I needed to wait an extra ten seconds so he could poke by in complete comfort. lol

I witness these kinds of "rage-lite" things almost daily now.

shens.

if you spit out a window while driving 40mph the spit will immediately go backwards. no way it would go between 2 cars next to eachother, across the passenger seat, and hit the other driver. you probably wouldn't hear someone make a spitting noise either at that speed with the wind from driving.

definitely not getting the full story plus getting some bullshit fed to us.

Yep, this was on Storrow Drive.

And for those who think the spit won't make it into my car... I don't understand how it did either. I was looking forward because if I looked into his car I was afraid of either veering into his lane and into his car or into the other side of the road. So I heard the noise, felt a spray, and looked over, and he must have spat at me. It felt like when you have a water bottle that is basically empty but has beads of water on the side, and you hold it up to one hand and squeeze the whole thing with the other, some liquids spray hits your hand.

Now you are right about the speed thing. Going at 50mph, his whole glob of saliva spit stuff didn't vault into my car. It hit the air and broke into a bunch of spray, which is why I got hit with some of the spray. We both had windows down, were VERY close to each others cars because he knew he was going to shout "Hey Guy" and then do this to me so he purposefully got way close, and I assume he leaned over the passenger seat to get as close to his window as possible.

But moral of the story = massholes.

I've never been spat at before, so I'm not an expert. But most likely, neither have you. Go ask myth busters to try it or something.

Maybe he had a flemmy ball of saliva that held together long enough to break out of the window as he leaned over the seat, and as soon as it broke the window threshold it broke into smaller spray, then hit me.

I don't know. But I guarantee you this guy has spat at someone else before, and had a pretty good idea that if he leaned and spat at me he would get some spit in my face.

And yes, I clearly heard the spit. It wasn't like when you spit out mouth wash or something. It was like when you scrape the back of your throat for flem, ball it up, and then blow the ball out of your mouth. It had a very distinct noise that I heard.

Why would I make up a story about being spat at while driving on storrow drive going 40mph? Just so that everyone hear can think I'm a pussy that got spat at on his way home from work?

You should have fought him.

There were these black teenage girls at the theater who were throwing popcorn at everyone. I got hit in the face with some so I was raging. So I went up to them and punched one in the face and kicked the other one in the stomach. I did not care that they were teenagers. No one stopped me because they probably wanted someone to do something about it.

If I had not taken action, it would probably be eating away at me, just like what is happening to you.

Lol confirmed you don't know how to drive. Slows down and then stops when merging. Good plan.

To avoid colliding with the guy who is flying at me in the right lane and unwilling to move to the left lane to allow me to merge.

OP, are you Asian? just curious as most tend to be bad drivers and are non-confrontational. don't know why, its not like getting into fights will lower your GPA

Dude spit on you, isn't that enough to press charges for assault or someting? Damn...

Anyhow, Last week.. I was driving and merged into another road. There were two cars in front of me. All I saw was food and drinks flying out of one car and into another. Then as we all stopped at a red light, guy that got food thrown at him got out of his car, went to up to the guy and punched him in the face. Then, another guy got out of another car in front of food throwers car, and kicked the driver side door in while the driver guy was trying to get out.

I didn't want to get held back by all this drama and drove around these fools, but then I thought "I should have recorded this.. this is awesome youtube material... darn!!

Road rage is kind scary at times. There was a guy in the news who shot some soccer mom on his commute to philly a few years back. Not sure how something like that happened...I wouldn't get out of the car with sombody ragin' on me hardcore.

On the flipside, people piss me the hell off while driving. If you cant handle the speedlimit, then drive some other time than rush hour.

Duely blundered from my thunderdolt

Eh, while I agree that proper merging shouldn't involve a reduction in speed, that can't necessarily be guaranteed. The issue is that a single vehicle merging onto another road may involve multiple vehicles if there's enough existing traffic. Unfortunately, most people don't seem to give a damn about merging traffic and they will not leave a gap or move over.

One of my biggest pet peeves as a person merging is when I'm stuck behind some idiot that insists on going 10-20 MPH below the speed of the road that we're merging onto. I can at least understand if the on-ramp is short, but I've been on some long on-ramps where people still insist on being slow.

The one thing that I've learned is that people are usually dicks during merges.

EDIT:

One odd thing that I notice here is how people leave excessive amounts of room between the car in front of them when stopped at stop lights. I'm talking enough room to fit at least two of their own vehicles in there. I saw one guy the other day that had a gap of three or more cars in front of him!
