I guess next time someone wants to make a movie about John Adams, they need to get the Federalist party approval. Or if they want to make a movie about Truman, they need to get DNC approval. Hilarious.

Actually I think it is in their best interest to do an accurate movie. But they do not need permission from the RNC to do a movie.

Oh brother. Where were these guys when the last remake of the Elliot Ness story was made, staring Nicolas Cage. In the movie, Elliot Ness was married. Not so in real life. In the movie, Elliot made sure that Frank Nitty got his just deserts. Not so in real life. Lighten up. It's not like Reagan was running for office.

CBS is not the history channel. They can do a fictional portrayal of Reagan if they want to. This happens a lot in movies. Braveheart comes to mind where a lot of the facts were made up or changed.

Gillespie said that if CBS denies the request, he will ask the network to run a note across the bottom of the screen every 10 minutes during the program's presentation informing viewers that the miniseries is not accurate
Think Fox News would do the same if the DNC asked them?

So what's the problem with the RNC making this request? It's a request, and they have no power to censor!
This is absurd!
As a conservative, i won't worry about this grotesque portrayal of the greatest president of the twentieth century.
You guys want Jimmy Carter back?
ROFL!
He's available!
LMAO!!!!

I liked this part of Gillespie's comments.

I think DNC should make the request of the networks that every 5 minutes during Mr. Bush's speeches that a note run across the bottom of the screen informing viewers that what Mr. Bush is saying "may not be accurate"! :D:D:D:D

If anything is fiction, their asses will be sued.

For what? For a dramatization? That is hardly illegal. They could have him being abducted by aliens. Nothing illegal about that.

Which requires disclaimers. Which is what the RNC is asking for. The fact of the matter is CBS and the producers of the mini series are trying to portray it as accurate, when its actually fairly inaccurate.

What about the Nixon movie? It was hardly flattering, certainly less so than this will be. No, unless Ronnie or his family can prove financial damage, there is no case.

Wow, you'd think Ronald Reagan was Jesus Freakin' Christ or something. It's hilarious to see the RNC work themselves into a lather over stuff like this though... :)

Wow - what a bunch of BS getting spewed here. Not only is the Title totally inaccurate;), but alot of the commentary here is utter BS. The RNC wants to review the script - IF CBS doesn't allow it, then they will push for the notification crawler. That is NOT censorship - that is wanting accuracy.

Cripes what a bunch bed-wetters. "The sky is falling...they are trying to deny free speech"

Get a clue, this "movie" is slanderous trash.

I asked this before and nobody had a good answer. If CBS wanted to make a mini-series about your family(mainly your parents) would you give them all this "free speech" latitude? Even if what has been "leaked" is inaccurate? Yeah - you guys would be singing an entirely different tune.

Carry on with the Reagan/Republican bashing though your agenda is showing quite clearly.
