I thought both Palin and McCain sounded very rehearsed, but I thought Palin with her "us versus them" speech was better than McCain's. Though even considering her "community" efforts to be in the same ballpark as Obama's is a farce. There are Mayors all over the US that work with more people in government that she has.

I liked the way he admonished the GOP for losing its way the last seven years. The crowd didn't like what they were hearing, but someone in their party has to own up to it.
It would be far more credible if he hadn't been voting right alongside them for most of it.
Pfft. You act like 95% is most. At least he didn't vote present!![]()

Always telling how when someone attacks her, they call her Mayor. I must have heard 20 different people mention "Mayor this, Mayor that". It's a telling omission to avoid her current position as Governor...
Don't forget John McCain's solution to people who have lost their jobs due to outsourcing: go to community college.Originally posted by: jpeyton
He's making the Bush tax cuts permanent, he's got big oil on his ticket, lobbyists filling his ranks, a thirst for war and reckless judgment.
He's there. Look harder.

McCain gave a wonderful speech tonight IMO. I've seen him speak a lot. He's given better speeches in terms of content, but in terms of sincerity he definitely struck a chord tonight. He's not perfect, wasn't even my first choice, yet you can tell this guy loves his country as imperfect as it is. And that may make all the difference. This race is about to turn around big time in my view.
Good luck Barack. You're gonna need it.

Yes, I was moved too. But then I remembered he voted with Bush 95% of the time. Unforgivable. Add to that his choice for a running, Caribou Barbie, and he's dug himself a hole no speech can get him out of.

I so don't see it that way at all. McCain just looks presidential. Barack looks like a neophyte by comparison. And I can't help but wonder who China, Russia, and other despotic regimes would rather stare down. Forgetting the '3am call' thing for a second, the simple fact is that the most powerful post on Earth is no place for a rookie, just my opinion.

one could make the argument that John McCain supports George Bush, who's crapped in America's mouth and kicked it in the nuts, and therefore, John McCain hates America and a vote for the republican party is a vote for al'qaeda, whose ranks would probably swell during the hundred year war in Iraq.
