Hey all

Just sold some old things and got a new laptop. It's got a Sempy mobile 3300+ in it with 512MB of memory and 80GB hdd, 14" widescreen. Very good price for the setup too. Anyways I've been trying to tinker with RMClock to improve the battery life, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I've set the profile to Performance on Demand for both AC and battery. The version of RMClock is the latest. Without being pluggin in the wall, I set up the P-states as such:

4.0 @ 1.075v >> 800 MHz
6.0 @ 1.150v >> 1200 MHz
8.0 @ 1.200v >> 1600 MHz

So when the system is under load, it'll go from 4.0 to 8.0 then down to 6.0 if it's not a heavy load; however if I'm extracting a RAR file or installing programs, once a while I'll observe a spike to full speed @ 10.0*200, 1.300v even when I've set the maximum allowed multiplier to 8.0.

By the way all these values are within spec. I used CPU-Z and observed that the 3 PowerNow! settings are 4.0, 8.0 and 10.0 with voltage values 1.075, 1.200, and 1.300v, respectively.

Can somebody help me solve this dillemma?
