RMAing LCDs...

Im in the market for an LCD and I've been looking on ZipZoomFly and Newegg's websites. Does anyone know if they allow you to return LCD monitors that are defective or have dead pixels? Or do you directly have to send it back to the manufacturer? I looked on their websites and it seems you are able to do so. I want to make sure that if Im not happy with it that I can exchange it no questions asked. Please advise. 🙂

lol I thought you said ramming LCD XD

It depends on the manufacturer. The tolerance is quite tight though; You have to have like 8 dead pixels to be legit for an exchange for most manufacturers.

You just can't garantee ou have 0 dead pixels
Unless you buy from a retail outlet where you can see for yourself before paying.
This is the only disadvantage of buying LCD online

NEWEGG: Dead Pixels Policy: Replacement or Refund for 8 or more DEAD PIXELS ONLY!

ZipZoomFly: not stated on site

But between the two, its easier to work with new egg.. so if newegg has 8 pixel rule, zzf must be tougher..

Ah, that's where I love the german laws...you can resend everything ordered by net or phone within two weeks without giving any reason... 😀
Once did that with an LCD...ordered...received...oooh, one dead pixel...and back you go...ordered another one...no dead pixel...see sig 😛

I had a defective lcd not too long ago (power-wise, not an issue with pixels), had to send it back to Sony themselves, Newegg will not handle them. The RMA process sucked, but it would take a couple paragraphs to explain all my frustrations on that subject... Important part was, Newegg's website stated a 3 year warranty, Sony told me I had just a 30 day warranty! Big difference!
