yesterday, and as you can tell they had some good stuff. Dozens of Stingrays, GTOs, Chevelles, Malibus, etc.

One of the Chevelles sold at auction had the fabled 454 LS6 and sold for a pretty penny. One of the cooler GTOs was this Tiger Gold GTO, apparently the last GTO with that original paint scheme. Included is its tri-power 389 V8 producing 360 hp.

Now your quote about how the Ram is the best size pickup suddenly makes more sense.
Yep. I was talking with a couple of people the other day, and we were discussing all these auctions, and we were all kind of mystified by what some of these Chrysler products go for these days.
When they were built, they were considered pretty much junk by everyone BUT Chrysler people....but today, for some reason, they're more popular than they were when new.

There weren't any Mopars unfortunately. I was kind of wondering about that. Lots of GM and three Mustangs (one a GT500 Vert) but surprisingly no Mopar.

The guy had at least 10 GTOs from 65 to 69, you'd think he'd have a charger or a challenger or something.

GTO=defined the Muscle Car. The original. If you're a Pontiac guy, that's typically what you own.

I always had a thing for the 70 Chevelle SS with the LS6 454. I'd rather build a clone though because I'd actually want to drive it.

icepick agreed! There is a guy down my street that just sold his 454 clone for 8000 in solid condition. Wish I had the money, i was jealous of that car everytime I drove by it

He has an LS6 clone??? He probably paid at least 40k for it (or is it a Chevelle he plopped an LS6 in?) so I'm surprised he'd sell it.

Either way, these cars are bitchin. I'm not too big a fan of the Chevelles in general, but I am of the LS6. I love the concept of just plopping in a bigass engine in...because...well...why not?
