We are not asking as if no one would do it, but trying to identify the idiots. How else can we openly mock them? BTW, where are these idiots going to surf?

Woah easy man! There are a lot of people lining up to pay $70K+ for a compact pickup. $70K is the starting price right? The one MKHB drove was north of $85K but anyway some people live in neighborhoods were they can see three or four $70K to $90K compact trucks out their window everyday.

OK, I get it. People spend their money however they wish to, and this is good and all. But can someone explain the Rivian advertising to me, please? Is there some kind of woodland surf I've been ignorant to my many years on the planet?

Well, at least we know who Rivian is targeting as their go-to buyers. LOL

As part of the effort to tease you a bit, I ended up searching for video of some of the cabins and campsites.
Let's just say "pretentious" is a word that might appear in the description I might have written of what I saw.

I like how some people are still "who's gonna pay $70K for a truck" when I can see at least three to four such vehicles from the various windows of my house depending on the time of day.

I think some people tend to forget that there's a lot of money in this world.

This was parked across the street from my house last night - based on the inspection sticker, it's likely model year 2021 or 2022-

Always find the visual cues designers use to hid the CUV shape interesting.
It's like the team who designed it took an existing sketch and just added another foot of bodywork at the bottom.
"That looks stupid!!"
"Nah...we'll just paint it black. No one will know."

they could be 50 feet from the shore of lake superior. decent surfing, from what i hear.

i am interested in the SUV for our second. It would be nice to have something a bit more capable as our 2nd car since moving in to the mountains a bit. mach-e with awd is on the list too, and not that much cheaper.

"Hell of a business model. Let's focus on the fresh water segment. There's our winning scenario!" Exactly how many fresh water surfers are there and the projected market penetration into that demographic? Then again, Honda did manage to sell more than one Ridgeline. LOL

It a lot better than Chevy's campaign promoting bestiality

@pauldun170 because there is a horse? like all horse owners are into that?

lots of threads lately: "everyone else is an idiot because they don't think exactly like me!"

it's a beta invasion.

I can't take this post seriously anymore than I take barkingghosts post too seriously.
Maybe you should try the same approach

Are you cranky over the cake thread?
Is that it?
Is that why you are jumping in on my post to BG?

Cakes?

Saw one in the wild today while I driving around town. No pics or anything because I was in the car alone and it was maybe all of 7 seconds. I'll be honest it definitely doesn't look like any other truck on the road especially from the front. That's honestly what gave it away because I instantly recognized the front end.

Anyway, it was pretty cool to see one just out and about driving around my small town but not all that surprising. I'm only about 30 minutes away from the Rivian assembly plant over in Bloomington.

Pretty sure it's a 2021. They no longer have orange as an option. I love the Urus!

I'll say this: given how many 'fluffy' features are in the R1T, I wouldn't be surprised if the company quickly follows up with lower-priced EVs. You don't need a pop-out flashlight or the many, many other luxuries in the R1T to have a good electric pickup.

I placed an order for the R1S, which included a thousand dollar deposit, a couple weeks ago. I don’t expect I will see one until 2023 though.
