RivaTuner won't install on Vista

I just built a new PC with a GTX 260 and am trying to get RivaTuner to install but it keeps giving me this following error:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com...49392_e248c21359_o.jpg

I then finish the install, launch RivaTuner and it shows this message:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com...55794_47214dd53a_o.jpg

I then told it I wanted to disable driver signing and reboot. My computer rebooted and it did the same thing. I then uninstalled RivaTuner, reinstalled it and no luck.

Any idea how to remedy this?

During boot press F8 (like used to enter safe mode). Choose the option to ignore unsigned drivers (or something like that -- it's been a while since I played with that function). Windows will then boot and you will be able to install/run RT.

Funny though -- I have RT installed on my folding rig and didn't have to do that step. I had to use that bypass to use CoreTemp previously when I had Vista64 on my gaming rig and wanted to monitor my e6400 @ 3GHz.

that is one way...or you could try EVGA Precision. It might work without jumping through those hoops.

Funny. It runs OK on my system. But it's only 32-bit. I use it only to control the fan on my 4850.

Vista 32 doesn't have this stupid limitation. Only Vista 64 does. The F8 key works but you have to press it every time you restart. There are several third party hacks that let you change this behavior, but last I heard SP1 blocked some of them that originally used to work.

when you ran the intaller and it asked to update did you click yes? there is file in same folder where it extracted called rivatuner211Drv.rtu that enables it to install on vista 64 bit
