Rivatuner Overclocking Question

I'm trying to overclock my BFG 6800 OC using rivatuner. According to the overclocking guide I've read, I'm supposed to overclock using the "low level system settings" option with riva. But when I try that, the "enable low level hardware overclocking" button is grayed out.
Instead of using the "low level system settings" option, I tried just using the "system settings" option, and that allows me to overclock ... Will that work just as well as the "low level" option? Am I losing anything by doing it the way I'm doing it?

there is no low level with the 6800 series

Are you sure? I used the low level setting to unlock the hardware masked pipes ...
