Hey guys, a very few of you might remember me from when I joined about a month ago. I'm the college student with the old Volkswagen GTI from the MaximumPC(.com) Magazine Commport forum. Ignorance is at an unbelievably all time high there and I'm about ready to get out. It's been flooded with punk high school kids who do nothing but go around the threads causing trouble. Lots and lots of trolls. My inbox is filled everday with these kids giving me grief about nothing. I never get to talk about hardware there anymore because I'm trying to defend myself or just keeping the E-mail auto-responces cleaned out hourly. It's insane.

ANYway, I recognize AnandTech as a much more professional website (the home page is a daily stop for me these days) and forum and am planning on kicking MaximumPC in favor of you guys. Those that I talked to were amazingly open and friendly to me when I posted for the first time. It was a great feeling, and more than anything I've gotten combined, x10, in the 1.5 years I've been with these other losers. Several of you being Volkswagen enthusiasts certainly helps too! I've got close to 3000 posts over there with them and am one of the 'Top 10' most popular posters. A veteran, and pretty well known. I intend to drop the ball on them within the next couple of weeks and have it hit hard. That place really needs a good cleaning. Just wanted to announce that you will officially have one more on board here soon, and I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you.

it's sad...but max PC was one of the few PC mags I still read, tho recently, I got hooked on CPU. great reading. Too bad the forums are dying there. hardocp has a pretty good forum too. U should maybe play there some too.
 
Their magazine is going downhill too... they actually talk about porn and other sexually explicit stuff (or hint at it at least) in the articles like it's expected all their readers have a similar mindset. I won't be renewing in August- will be finding another one. Maybe PC World or something... I dunno. I'll have to check out CPU, haven't heard of it before! Hard|OCP is a pretty cool site too- I've been going here and there for reviews. Thanks for your help! 🙂

welcome to AT.. as you can see, there are plenty of people here with 3000+ posts, meaning they like it, or at least put up w/ it....
 
Hee hee, that's really cool- it may take me another year to get up to the almost 3000 posts I have over at MaxPC, but I'd rather start at the bottom of a great community than near the top of the ghetto.
