I'm feeling stupid, but you ultimately paid $3 less for 100 of them and you're disappointed???

What am I missing here??

Allmediaoutlet, shop4tech, and supermediastore take over a week to get to my house. With newegg, I can get it within 3 days. And if anything goes wrong, I would rather deal with newegg than the above mentioned stores 😀

Not to hijack this thread but if you do want to save a few bucks and live on the west coast, which I presume supermediastore is located, then here is the link

Link This link is for the matte but they are now forwarding you to the shiny ones.

Coupon is listed under their coupon section...the matte finish is sold out but they still have the shiny Riteks. West coast people may prolly get cheaper shipping than I did.

Thanks for a great deal!! Haven't had any problem with newegg so far...love them as much as compgeeks! I always thought newegg came from the former egghead for some reason...

There's always someone who doesn't know (i.e.,you before you got here)

But I was here before Newegg opened up! I was hear for the shops.com, hitachi monitor, and 10 pack voodoo deals. 😛

Super deal, and if I remember correctly, the ridata packs are a bit less glossy than the ones I usually get from shop4tech.com (usually ~$65-$70)...if I didn't currently have 75+ of these stacked up right now, I'd pick up these in a second.

I called them and they said they are due in tomrrow but not for certain but......... he couldnt tell me if the price would be the same. I am going to get me 2 packs when they come in if theya re the same price. Set up and auto-notify and they will e-mail you as soon as they come!!!-------> notify me now!!

Anyone know what these burn at on the unmodified Pionner AO5? Are these really 4X, or only with the hacked firmware?

Thanks

Do these discs have some kind of a (printed) protective topcoat?

I hate the ones with an unprinted "silver" topcoat - they always seem to flake eventually...

The newegg item is ridata (branded) so-called "Grade A" discs from ritek. I'm sure that the supermedia discs are 4x riteks too (g04) but are probably not the ridata discs.

Also in reference to "I hate the ones with an unprinted "silver" topcoat - they always seem to flake eventually..." comment from gsaldivar - that's a cd-r quality since they can have the reflective layer directly on top of the disc. Even the shiny dvd discs have a clear coating on top of the reflective layer - cds and dvds are designed differently. I have used more than 50 of the ridata branded ritkek discs - ridata is riteks own retail brand - and have had no problems, they are good discs. I don't know about the shiny riteks they may be equally good, but then again they may not be.

on dvdrhelp.com

the optodisk gold label 25pack for like 32~bucks rate real well too..

i just bought those instead

The Ritek OEM's I have bought in the past had an unprinted silver on the top. These Ridata DO have a protective topcoat, although it is difficult to notice in the picture because the topcoat is silver as well. It's difficult to describe, but if you put a Ridata side by side with a Ritek (which I have done), you will see the protective topcoat.

And how did you determine that? Just because Newegg is better than supermediastore? I'll check them out when they arrive to show you are clearly wrong. The ones i bought had the same picture as newegg, red spindle of Ridata WHICH they have now SOLD OUT at supermedia.
