Ritek 4x DVD-R 100pk@$78/free ship-Supermediastore.com

They have Supermedia 1-4X 4.7GB DVD-R 100pack for $59

Btw, what's the difference between shiny and matte top?
I usually just use sharpie permanent ink.
Which top is better for that?

The generic media brands can be had cheaper, yes.
But general consensus is that ritek g04's are the best media to be had without getting into the professional grade blanks at 3-5 bux a pop.

just out of curiosity, what are these professional grade blanks you're talking about?

and back to the topic, yep, ritek g04s are great stuff. works well on 4x, for even my ps2, not to mention my normal players.

computer shows you have to go there, most of the time pay parking + admission, and spend your time looking around as well.
so stfu.

A couple of days ago my roommate and I got the 100 we're splitting. So far he's having huge problems getting them to burn reliably @ 4x on his NEC 1100A. He has to back them off to 2x. I'm not having any problems @ 4x so far with my Pioneer 105. What is wierd is that he has burned on Silver-tops before (from a batch I got mid-last year), and he's burned over 50 of the matte-top G04s @ 4x w/o any problems (as I have too). The coasters he makes @ 4x are the kind that can still be used, but burned only @ 2x. What is even wierder is that if I stick one of his "coasters" in my drive, I too can only burn it successfully @ 2x. I've had this problem before on other media, and my lens was dirty, which leads me to believe that it's a hardware problem that just cropped up recently, but I figured I'd mention it because it's the first time I've seen anyone I know have any problems with G04 media.
