What are you supposed to feel like when u take ritalin? took one today, and i don't notice anything diff. reading comprehension is about the same (sh*t)...all it has been able to acheive is making me hungry...and MAYBE slightly slight calm...but I don't know if that was the ritalin or the muscle relaxer (flexiril...sp?)

I took 1 10mg tablet

I'm confused. lol

Are you taking it because it was prescribed to you or are you taking it because you scored one from a friend? If it's the latter then I suggest you not take it because you probably have no reason to take it.

If you were prescribed the Ritalin and you did not feel any noticable effects then I suggest you talk it over with your psychiatrist or your prescribing doctor and tell him about it.

I would think that not feeling anything from a 10mg Ritalin pill is due to just not having enough.

ADD doesn't exist. Kids who take Adderall just have sucky parents.

my bro got some prescribed today. the reason i took it is cuz i have been thinking about it for a while (i have a very hard time concentrating after my depression...and even a bit prior to that)...we both have had the same problems, so yeah, wanted a heads up before i went to the doc (my doc said ONLY a psychiatrist can give it...but my bro went to a normal doc)

Yeah. Otherwise, don't take it. 10 mg isn't enough to do much of anything--especially Ritalin SR--unless you have reason for it to be prescribed. One thing is for sure though--it should not make you hungry. You might be feeling hungry after 3-5 hours though, but that's after it wears off.

one: amphetamines do not make you hungry... they actuatly have the opposite effect
two: it's possible that you are ADD, which means that taking low doses of amphetamine would actuatly focus you and to feel anything you need a very large amount. 10mg is not much at all.
three: what the hell were you doing taking an upper and a downer at the same time?

took the flexiril in the morning for my headache. was a decent gap between the two though. plus, muscle relaxers never really have much effect anyways.

It works, it's good stuff. I'm prescribed from a psychiatrist, Adderall. Focusing, doing homework, etc. You can still be easily distracted. I have to do my homework away from distractions like at a library otherwise even with the medication I'll still want to go and do other things.

I took Ritalin and similar drugs for many years (and will be starting again in a few weeks). It really isn;t anything noticeable from your end. The only way to tell its effect is to ask others.

Hell I cut my 10MG tablets of Ritalin (generic) in half and take the 5MG halves 4 hours apart and it does the trick for me. I take it for narcolepsy, after trying Provigil without much success. If anything, Ritalin would be more likely to suppress your appetite, though Ritalin is not amphetamine.

You really should not 'experiment' with prescription drugs, particularly if you're already on a prescription drug and you don't know how the two may interact. Of course you already know that.

How Ritalin makes you 'feel' depends on your own unique neurobiology. Drugs have different effects on different people.

yeah. i do. but i don't take my prescription on a regular basis...just whenever my neck hurts too bad...so like 1 or 2 times a month. but honestly, i didn't care if there was an interaction

It's methylphenidate which has an amphetamine like backbone and it's safe to say that, at least in regards to appetite suppresion, the two chemicals are similar in their effect.

All CNS stimulants have 'similar' effects, particularly those with dopaminergic influence.
