Risk, History of the world, and more online!

Alright, not enough people getting into games or sticking with them and finishing them on my newest addiction so lets feed some atoters into the machine.

www.gamesbyemail.com

they have a clone of risk and history of the world, as well as axis and allies, chess, checkers and a ton more. Someone takes a turn, the next player gets an email etc. Fun way to play some of these longer board games without getting people together and rolling dice for a few hours.

If you want to play with a specific group you just need to enter their emails when starting a game, or you can start a game and list all the seats for the general public to join.

My only gripe with the site is that now that I can take 5 minutes for a turn any time during the workday, it feels like it takes forever for other people to go, and you get some ninnies who stop playing mid-game.

Welcome to the 1990's.

I used to play Diplomacy by email back in the day. I can't believe people still do this 🙂

Ok - you guys with Risk now have a Moderator watching over you:twisted:

I will not be able to setup until this weekend - not advisable to do so while at a clients location

Is it real time? No, the idea here is to play when you have the time. Instead of arranging to meet at a site and dedicate a half hour to finishing a game, you make your moves when you get a free minute. Yes, the game takes a bit longer, but you have all the time in the world to think out your moves and you can play many games simultaneously. Set is the only real-time game.

lol apparently they never watched me play Risk or Axis and Allies.

Just curious whats the timeframe these games take. Like are we talking a move every 5-10 minutes for a few hours while we do other things? Like will there be time to sleep xD

depends entirely on who is playing, I could probably get through a full game in a day or two with friends who play regularly, or even in an afternoon.

I prefer faster paced, but sometimes life intervenes and someone is afk for a day or two.

Alright I think its my turn and I sent an army from Indonesia to New Guinea and then my whole ma[ went blank. I cant seem to get this to work correctly =(
