Be the Bantu. Twice the population limit = twice the devastation of the enemy. Also, use the infinite queue and the feature that allows newly created units to join already existing groups. It makes controlling your military much easier and efficient. If you are playing against human opponents, sabotage as much as possible. It will piss anyone off.

How do you do this queue thing? I tried in the demo and can't figure out how to make soldiers automatically go into a particular army. Maybe I just stink (but I can win on the easy setting) :p

Click on any building that produces units. At the bottom of the screen there is a little green bar that shows progress being made on unit creation. Directly to the right of it is a small infinite symbol. Click it to enable infinite queue. It will continue to produce units until the resources needed for production are gone. To make soldiers automatically join a group, click on the building they are produced from and then right click on any unit already part of a group. Newly produced units will join that group. Edit: It should confirm the action with a message at the top of the screen.

cool thanks, didnt know that. :)

The queue limit is 20 per building I believe.

I love this game! My only complaint is how slow it can get when you play a multiplayer game. Me and my wife play with 4 computer opponents and man it just bogs down sometimes (We're talking .5 fps or so. Choppy as hell)

Ironically, I use the French and actually can win battles with them :p

They have the unique heavy horse units which are a bit better than regular, and I'm accustomed to using them heavily from AoE where the French also had a calvary bonus.

& their lumber bonus really helps out in the early ages

French have it better as they progress. They have the awesome trebuche in the middle ages. Consider it the early form of rocket power! Also, in the industrial age, the effect of healing with supply is a big bonus. While you are going toe to toe with an equal army, you are being healed while they are losing out. Especially, if they are on your side and you take out their supply wagons.

That being said, if you are playing the risk map, be sure to take out those damn north and south american tribes. If you leave them alone until rocket age, they will nuke you to death and everybody loses. the other european and asian countries aren't that blood thirsty.

My favorite part is to see an invasion force take to the water and head straight for my corvettes patroling the water. Boom, boom, boom! goodbye large scale invasion force!

Hell no. After AI it's completely useless. There are definately FAR better wonderes.

How is it useless, it still builds units. Maybe it doesn't, it's been a while since I played. But when you have it you do have a distinct advantage. If nothing else, you have a lot of fodder.

What wonder is the best is purely subjective to your nation and the situation you're in.

Overall the Terra cotta Army is a good wonder in the pre industrial ages of the game, but in post Industrial ages I rather keep those population spots for tanks.

I prefer the Statue of Liberty, Supercollider, Colossus & the Colosseum for my wonders
