Gotta be compiled unless you have an emulator program. The Mac is a risc system and it has an emulator program. Needless to say, using an emulator is a big slowdown.

<< I thought AMD's started out being RISCs.. bah i'm confused. >>

No, not true.....

BUT the K7 core was Designed as RISC based.......basically in a nutshell, all K7 core based Chips are Castrated ??

Well no...how can I explain this ??

Let's just say AMD Forced the Athlon etc. to run x86 code.......
it would be a FAR MORE SUPERIOR Chip if it WERE RISC.........FLAT FPU etc....

It has all the x86 gibber gabble on there to make it an x86 chip, but it coudl indeed very well be an AMAZING RISC chip....so again, how do i say it ??

AMD Designed it with the RISC Architecture in mind....there we go...i think that about sums that up =)

The line is very thin today... parts of the core of most processors are RISC based, but uses x86 instructions.
