ok, so I got an audio cd and I wanna convert it to mp3,

so I went to Preference.... select output to Disk writer, and convert from .cda to .wav, then I got a program name RightClick-mp3 and uses its Blade-encoder to make .wav to .mp3,
question is, how I convert straight from .cda to .mp3?

I can also convert from .cda straight to .mwa with Winamp 2.7, but I wanna know the way for mp3 too.

meanwhile, is there another encoder? coz I can heard noticable degradation from .cda to .wav, let alone going from .wav to .mp3 and also .wma

Audio Catalyst is ok, I've heard its encode quality isnt as good as some others, but that would do a 1 step conversion...Personally, I EAC it to wav, then LAME it to mp3.....Cause I am ALL about quality...

I have also used EAC (damn nice proggy BTW) to convert from CD to MP3 on the fly in one process and it works really well. It takes me less than a minute a song this way and the quality of the MP3s is very good.

Same here, gives very good quality and relatively fast.

<< Audiograbber with Fraunhoffer MP3 Codec :D >>

I far prefer the LAME encoder, the later ones are much better than the previous.

You get the same quality by selecting your desired LAME bitrate in the EAC .wav format list box (assuming you have the LAME .dll). Maybe that's what you meant, though.

Haha, I thought you mean needing help ripping a newbie on the forums :D

EDIT: The site is back up. Considered one of the best on mp3. Check her out :)

Ya know, not everyone should be ripping CDs. Why? Because I hate downloading songs that sound like crap. I downloaded a song the other day that I haven't heard in a long time. It's not available on CD so somebody ripped it from vinyl. The song starts, plays for like 3 seconds...then stops...you can tell the guy lifted the stylus and then starts it again with all the snap crackle and pop of vinyl. Then it starts. Grrrrrr...
