Ripping multiple DVDs' at the same time

when I rip one DVD I usually get around 11x speeds, but when i try and do two at once both drives only rip at around 2x. Is this because they are both saving to the same harddrive ?

If I added a 2nd harddrive would they both rip at maxium speed when saving both DVDs' to separate Harddrives ?

My system :
Q6600 Quadcore @ 3.2 ghz
4 gb of DDR @ 900 mhz
Windows vista Ultimate 64

Interesting question, given your system setup. If you convert both DVDs to ISOs on the local drive and rip the ISOs, does your speed still decline like that?
