Hi,

This is my setup

AMD 64 3200+ 512 l2 cache
Asus K8V SE DELUXE
1gig of pc3200 ram
100gig ATA100 Western Digital hdd MASTER
120gig ATA100 Maxtor HDD SLAVE1
120gig SATA Samsung HDD Slave2
Toshiba DVDRom master
Liteon DVD+/-RW Slave

ok this is my problem. When i use to rip dvd movies it took me 50mins + on the regular ATA100 harddrive. so i bought a SATA harddrive. well it still takes me 50+mins to rip a dvd movie.

do u guys have any suggestions to what could be wrong with it? i am all out of idea.

youre title says "burning" and your thread "rip" ... so which is it?

if its ripping, try using the other dvd-rom to rip. what are u using to rip with? i prefer dvd-decrypter and can rip a full length movie in about 15 min

Did you buy a SATA drive in hopes of ripping/burning faster? If so the slowest component (bottleneck) between the 2 is the DVD drive.

Also you didn't specify the speed/specs of your DVD writer. i.e. if it's 2x write or read it could explain why it would take 50+ minutes. Well maybe @ 2x it takes 30 minutes or so 😕

lol.. my bad i will edit it.

im doing both actuall. using clone dvd and any dvd

it's taking me 50mins to rip then 20mins to burn.

the burning time is fine, but ripping time is too much

also

Yes i bought the SATA in hopes of a faster ripping.

Tosiba = 16x dvd rom

Liteon = 411S firm update to a 811s. 8x + & - R burning. and 4x of + and - RW
