well, he affected a LITTLE more than the computer industry!

truly an audio pioneer...

instead of a moment silence, i'll do a moment of turning up my promedia's as loud as they will go and playing amazing grace.

Gosh! Can we be happy and rejoice that he lived for a damn 98 years of existence? I thought this was some really young guy or something. (Uh-oh! Pardon my amazing ignorance! 😛)

I'm glad for his existence and his contributions; pick it up from there and help too folks. Hope those real close to him can let go and deal with the situation with the positives.

Thanks for sharing, original poster (I bet it's so obvious how so much I do not know this guy 😱 But still, my point stands: rejoice instead of being sad). 🙂

Edit: Oooops! Typo again! 😱

damn, that sucks........just piles ontop of the rest of the bad news this evening (for me).

Sorry to be OT: Viperoni, did you get my PM?

<< I'm using his 4.1 speakers right now as is my roommate >>

I swore I read "I'm using his 4.1 speakers as my roommate". Hoss needs sleep.

yeah, I echo Luvly's statements... although I know who he was 😛

He lived a long life, filled with doing what he loved and accomplishing his goals and making a positive difference in the world. I'm sure he had very few regrets and was happy with what he had done.

Although I'm not familiar with all of the technical details, I know that this man made some huge advances in audio, long before computer speakers were even fathomed. Didn't he basically invent the horn-loaded speaker?

RIP. Or, if not in peace, at least boogie-ing away in front of a pair of blaring Klipschorns.

<< thats sucks =(

I shall buy bose speakers in his honor
>>

Uhhh... you're kidding, right? Just in case you aren't, you might want to do a forum search to find out what the audiophiles on this site think of Bose products.

I shall raise a pint to him tonight. He shall be missed.

R.I.P 🙁
