I think the VX8300 was my first cell phone - when they first became affordable I really didn't want to be reached 24/7 and had no interest in one. It was a good phone and took a lot of abuse but once I was essentially forced to carry a smart phone by my company I never really wanted to go back to a flip phone. Our family account still has a flip phone on it that we use if our smart phones are broken.

My mom got rid of hers so she wouldn't be embarrassed when taking it out. So she has an iphone 4.

Honestly though, I don't understand the embarrassment part. I just can't get over how dumb phones are. Or in other words, how much I'd be losing in functionality.

I'm paying for the wife and kid's smart phones and they razz me because I don't have one or text. The wife just called. She's the volunteer soccer coach (don't ask) for my son's team. She's sitting at the field and gets a delayed text from him saying the practice has been canceled. "Why didn't he just call and tell me?" It's her B-Day week so I didn't laugh until I hung up.

Hated vista. Actually the new build is Win 10, AMD FX 8370. I did splurge for Office 2013. Kind of hurt my feelings after open office though.

I still use an LG Cosmos 2 slider I got off Ebay a few years back. My wife and kids make fun of me all the time but ya know what IDC. It works great and does what I need it to do, who cares if it has baked in MySpace app? I don't.

I don't think I'd have a flip phone anymore. If I didn't need a phone for work, I'd probably just use my smart phone as a small tablet. I like having the gps, and a bunch of music with me. I can jump on wifi when I need internet. The phone part's a nuisance. The only people that call me are clients. I trained everyone else to use email.
