RIP Mariah

RIP Mariah, my chocolate lab. She was five years old this month; she passed yesterday in her sleep. She was part of my family and a more loyal companion and friend than many men I have known. I cried for her.

I will always remember the adventures you and I had and how you kept watch over my family at night, how you protected my wife when I was away and played with my son so gently. I will always remember you and although other dogs will come and go you will always be my pup.

i lost a cat over a month ago and it was tough. i'm glad she did not suffer before she died, and it seems that is how your dog was as well.

it'll be sad for a while but it will get better with time.

Sorry for your loss OP. Mariah is a beautiful dog. As the owner of 2 Labs, I know how loveable they can be.

🙁 I'm sorry for you loss. I know what you're going thru.

I lost two of my dogs in the last couple of months. I had to put to sleep one back in March and then my other had a stroke and died a couple of weeks ago. Last night, I got Lucky's remains and was able to finally bring her home.

I miss them every day. I miss petting them and seeing their excitement when they saw me come thru the door.

I actually went to see a couple of rescues this weekend but still don't know if I'm ready for another companion.
 
I thought you were talking about how Mariah Carey was pigging out.

But anyways, 5 years old? That's really young.. did she eat chocolate or something? 😛
