I graduated from high school in 1990. Now I feel ancient.

I graduated HS in 1979. Remobz, wait till your twisting your head around like a spaz trying to get your "progressive lens glasses" in the in the right position to read the tiny little writing on a MB. Ancient won't just be a feeling anymore.

Lurker! MINE!

Tell me about it...My oldest grandson was born in 99. He started high school last year. 😵
But...but, I was born in January 99 and started this year. It's a 9-12.
Only if its 9 thru 12.

Mine was 10-12.
Wut.

The Elder Scrolls. Skyrim is the latest one in the franchise, n00b. Oh and they're about to release an MMO that also uses the IP, but I'm shoving that one into the phantom zone of fanon discontinuity, right next to New Trek.

I would love to someday meet a geezer that plays TES, they sound much better than the garden variety. But are we talking more Daggerfall or Skyrim?

I'm a geezer and trying Skyrim off and on, mostly off. While it is a beautiful game I'm finding it more than a bit boring. I guess years of shooting everything that moves has conditioned me to like games that move a bit faster. I also find the whole leveling up in multiple categories to be tedious.

If you have it on PC there are a lot of mods that change levelling in various ways, or you can just use the console to give yourself the levels you want, since the game levels the enemies with you anyway. I play on PC and its xbox controller support is just as good as the xbox's.

I got into the series with Oblivion, and I'd say Skyrim is 11ty times more accessible and well-paced. What I like about the games is that there are so many different ways to play and explore their huge countries and their generally decent main quest lines. That and the depth of lore that the series has amassed by now, sometimes that's more interesting than the gameplay.

Anyway if you're getting bored, follow the Civil War questline. IMO it's the most boring of the major ones (weak plot, repetitive missions), but it has no shortage of moving things to squish. Failing that, try something completely different. If you have a bow, pick up a warhammer. If you've been turning giants inside out with fireballs, pick up a dagger and go to town on some Falmer. You'll probably want to start a new game though, so that the enemies level with the skills you are actually using. Doing that is how I've racked up about twenty unique characters over 2.5 years.

Sorry, this geezer is from the Ultima era.
