Right in the middle of gameplay with my buddies - WHAM. Hardlock.

Okay. Reboot.

*BEEEEEEEEEEEP. BEEEEEEEEEEEEP.*

Not good. Pull one stick. *Beep.*

Switch sticks. *Beep.*

Put the pulled stick back in a different slot. *BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.*

I'm down to 256MB now, and no dual-channel. I was struggling enough to play FarCry smoothly with 512MB ... and now this. :(

The deceased is survived by its twin brother, Corsair XMS PC3500, and its best friends Athlon XP JIUHB @ 2.2GHz and Radeon 9500 Pro. :(

Sucks man... how old is it? Maybe you can complain that it was faulty or something and get it replaced for cheap or free.

That's what I was thinking. But then I also realized him not buying it at a retail outlet could cause a slight problem if he didn't print out a receipt from wherever he ordered it.

Well, I'm back in action with a half-gig. At 333MHz, since the spare stick was PC2700, but I'm alive and able to play FarCry again. :D

Hardly. I've still got one stick of dead RAM and I'm down to 333FSB. :(

How's the reviews on Infineon RAM? I can pick up a gig (2x512) for about CDN$250 shipped.

Temporarily, as long as you can game, it's solved.

How much is $250 CDN in US? Because to me that seems pretty cheap.

Ouch that sucks... But, I've never used Infineon ram before.

Consequently, my video card died today too :(
