RIP Grandpa 1925-2012

Grandfather passed away on Tuesday, held the memorial service yesterday. Passed in his sleep.

1925 - 2012; 86 years old.
Married faithfully for 63 years
Father of Three
Grandfather of Seven
Great Grandfather of One
WWII Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart
Champion Collegiate Athlete
He is a man whom I respect more than any other person. He had only one face: what you saw was who he was, always 100% honest. Always did what was necessary. He will be missed.

Sounds like he was man in every good sense of the word, and lived a long and fruitful life.

Also, couldn't help but notice that, as I post this, your post count stands at exactly 10,000!

Sorry to hear. Yes, people like him and his unique history are few indeed.

Just came back from the Bay Area for a wake last week. Not a nice way to meet long lost relatives. :'(

Sorry for your loss 🙁

Lost last of my Grandparents last October

I feel for your family's loss, and I wish I could shake his hand in appreciation for his service to our country that we should all be grateful for. All the best.

I'm so sorry for the loss and all the pain that you and your family must all be feeling now.
My grandfather was my hero and I was completely devastated when he passed away. It's been several years, but every time I think about him I tear up.
Think of the good times, and appreciate what time you had with him 🙂
His memory surely will live on with you.
