Grandfather passed away on Tuesday, held the memorial service yesterday. Passed in his sleep.

1925 - 2012; 86 years old.
Married faithfully for 63 years
Father of Three
Grandfather of Seven
Great Grandfather of One
WWII Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart
Champion Collegiate Athlete
He is a man whom I respect more than any other person. He had only one face: what you saw was who he was, always 100% honest. Always did what was necessary. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear. Yes, people like him and his unique history are few indeed.

Just came back from the Bay Area for a wake last week. Not a nice way to meet long lost relatives. :'(

I'm so sorry for the loss and all the pain that you and your family must all be feeling now.
My grandfather was my hero and I was completely devastated when he passed away. It's been several years, but every time I think about him I tear up.
Think of the good times, and appreciate what time you had with him 🙂
His memory surely will live on with you.
