RIP Contracts

AT&T already has non subsidy plans without contacts. I've been on one since the beginning of the year.

Verizon's price for i think 10gb or higher on Edge plan was $15 bucks per smartphone. They upped it to $20 per line now. (Per line access fee).

Base price was $80 for 10gb but now they give you 2 extra GB but charge you $5 bucks more per line.

Does anyone have unlimited data still ?

I get a 20% discount with vzw through work, but it seems like they are changing a bunch of terms with it.

I still have unlimited data. I was going to get an iPhone 6s on one of my other lines and switch it over and keep unlimited another 2 years, but I don't know if it can be done anymore after this. If not I may switch to AT&T

I left Verizon for this. I had three lines with both two being unlimited. Me and my wife both wanted new phone so using the third line for swapping wouldn't work anymore. I sold my unlimited lines and switched to AT&T. I get a higher discount with Verizon but it was still more than AT&T Edge vs. Next. Coverage is pretty much equal in my area plus AT&T has better coverage at my annual vacation spot. I am very happy with AT&T and the Next program. Glad to finally be rid of CDMA.

No, I have VZ unlimited. However, whether I'll ever see another Verizon phone that meets my specs (flashable, unlimited storage, <140g)... who knows.

IM with you on that my friend.... probably never LOL

I used my last two upgrades today. We'll see what the future holds. I have 5 lines; 2 unlimited, 2 tiered and a dumb phone. Funny enough I added one of the tiered lines last week. Good timing?

Unlimited VZ here as well, I'm sure they have a genius think tank working to figure out how to get us to abandon those contracts.

Of course they only offer the 20% in the base cost but not on any of the line fees. Mighty convenient that the access fees keep going up.

I gave up my unlimited last year - don't miss it at all. Traded the ability to set up a hotspot for unlimited data; well worth the trade. I never exceed my 12gb plan and I share that 12gb with the wife.

I just got rid of unlimited data back in feb when I finally upgraded to a new phone after nearly 5 years. They would NOT allow me to continue the same contract when doing that. Sadly you would think that the prices would be lower, but of course, they cost more..go figure.

I get a 27% discount through work, and yea..like mentioned, they only take it off in a way that barely even scratches the price...still..at least it is something.

I take short weekend trips every month and really burn through data when I'm on a train or bus, hotel streaming movies and music.

Will give up my unlimited plan shortly after hell freezes over.

remember reading an article shortly after at&t and sprint finally started matching more of the tmobile moves where it talked about verizon was happy to let phone users know they cost more (i.e., cause "they're better").

I switched off my VZW unlimited plan a while back. Recently switched off AT&T post paid account with 20gb's of data for Straight Talk. Paying almost a third of the price and I never even get close to the 5gb cap. Same network the only difference I've noticed is my ping is slightly higher. Not an issue for me personally since I don't stream a ton of videos.

I've got 3 smartphones currently sharing 6GB. Each month after my 19% company discount the bill is $182.40. This new pricing tier makes it appear I would pay $60 for 6GB, plus another $60 in smartphone line fees for a total of $120 + taxes before my company discount. Sure looks like in my case I could save a lot of money, especially considering all of us buy our phones off contract anyways.
