RIP Brad Parker. Drummer dies onstage in Brazil

Finally reported in English Language press.
My friend , Brad Parker died Saturday evening while on stage with Generation Esmeralda, a reprise of the group "Santa Esmeralda" a Franco-US production we both worked on and toured.
Condolences to his wife Carol and their daughter. I can't imagine the heartbreak Carol's going through. She convinced him to give it all up and come off the road and build a real life back in 1979. I'm sure she let him go out thinking "what's a couple of gigs by grey -haired guys gonna hurt?" o_O :':)'(

i'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
While it was neither graceful nor pleasant to those who witnessed him go, it seems to me he died rather quickly doing something he loved, enjoying himself, having a good time. I'd rather something like that for myself then months or years of suffering.

Sure looks like he lost consciousnesses doing what he loved to do. What a way to go, no suffering. That's the way I want to go.

i did and i dont see them stop playing. for some reason i dont have sound with this vid so im going buy what i see. at the end of the vid the guitar player has his back to the camera and it looks like he is still playing.

Heart attack, one of those WHAM widow-makers. In the video you see him make a drom roll and then just fall forward, there's maybe 8 measures of music then he convulsed, and that throws him off the drum riser. Not good at all. :'(

I found a youtube video in Portugese that also has no audio. Maybe TV station camera feeds. :confused:

I can't blame the band for not stopping, they probably looked back and thought he had dropped a stick or something and tried to recover it. Lots of chaos on a stage. There is nothing you can do :(
