WTH, if we're going to get banned for quoting someone who quotes someone why not just disable the quote feature? Or modify it so that using it isn't a bannable offence?

I'm not trying to get myself banned by posting this, It just seems excessive. I've always quoted someone else when they said exactly what I would have, it's a way of showing that multiple people are thinking the same way about the thread.

After that level, it starts a chain of who can jump on the BAN wagon the quickest.

Ah, on-again off-again moderation is still alive and well at AnandTech.

The fact that half the people banned probably had no idea that quoting someone once or twice was against the rules - where are those posted again? - surely has no place in evaluating whether to give people a vacation or not. Not to mention there have been eight bazillion threads where nested quotes passed without comment, creating the appearance of it being an allowed practice. Let's make some sense here, guys.

If he smoked his last in 1978, but had been smoking since 1960 or 1950, then THAT'S where his problem probably lied.
