"And then thats Maude..."

I was about 5 years old and was a big fan in the mid 70s. Golden Girls was nice too, I still watch a rerun or two now and then.

Bea Arthur you were a talented actress and an all around good person.

She was a great comedic actress.

Did a great job playing the 'straught man' to her mom on GG.

She lived a long full life and died with her family by her side. We should all be so lucky. :wine:

my first thought as well, though i don't remember it being Pam Anderson.

I do remember Jeffrey Ross saying "I wouldn't fuck you with Bea Arthur's dick."

still my favorite insult.

Madame Curie was a strong woman character,
working all day in a science lab, yeah!

Clara Barton was a famous nurse,
who was rapping with the soldiers and bandages, too.

Susan B. Anthony, always out doin' stuff,
Marching around and holding up signs.

Pocahontas had it all goin' on,
An Indian guide with lots of Indian pride.

Indira Gandhi ran a whole big country,
That isn't easy even if you're a guy.

Babe Zaharias was a really good athelete,
Good at track and field and professional golf, too.

Amelia Earhart flew a lot of airplanes,
Except for that one time when she didn't come back.

Cleopatra lived way out in the desert,
But still found a way to keep herself looking fine.

And then there's Maude!

I never watched either of those shows, but I stand by my earlier response.
