RIO800 128mb Problem

Was transferring a large file using MediaPlayer under XP Pro and it hung at 43% transferred. Looked at mp3 player and the screen was all garbled. Manged to get to the place where you can delete tracks (still all garbled) and deleted the three track that were there (mind you I was only transferring one 100mb track). Turned off and on, display problem corrected. Says no tracks but shows the momory to be full. Whenever I select the RIO800 as my "transfer to" device in mediaplayer. the program just altogether closes without a trace. Anyone have any ideas. RIO tech support sucks btw.🙁

format the freakin flash memory....then, if that doesn't work - try a firmware upgrade to clear the previous one...but i'm almost certain flashing the memory will work.

You guys know how I could get my girlfriend's RIO PMP 300 to do anything with WinXP? The software won't install under WinXP Pro -- tried using the compatability wizard as well with no luck.

nortexoid - Tried firmware upgrade which i thought would flash the memory. No luck. How would I flash the memory otherwise. Thanbks for your help.
