Still not a bad deal if you're willing to take the risk, and a good player.

Hmm, I can't seem to find the size of the player anywhere. Anyone know what it is? However, even if it is only a 128MB player, it's still a pretty good deal. Nice find. :)

I've had my S35S (128MB version) for more than two years, and it's still working great. Make sure to get an SD card to go with it, 64MB is almost useless.

In that case, I'll get one. I don't want to run with my iPod mini, so this will be perfect. :) Thanks for the sweet deal!

I had one with an expansion card for about a year. I left it outside the shower in the gym and someone took it. It was a great player!!

If someone bought it from overstock, can you please tell me if it came with a sports armband? Thanks.

Walmart is selling the Rave MP 256, expandable to 512 with carrying case, belt clip, arm band, pro style earbuds for 49.98, is it a good player/deal?

I bought my kid an Ipod, but I don't need anything near that capacity/price, just something to take to the gym.

Angelony,

The PDF manual for the S30S states "The Rio players support current MMC memory sizes of 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128MB."

Can you confirm that this model will take a 1 gig card?

Thanks.

Rio players sometimes have random electrical glitches, because of the firmware, but they have the best feature set I have seen of current players. Had very occasional issues with my S30S and volume control, but other than that it was a solid unit that lasted me for at least 2 years.

Using a Rio Forge now, but the S30S had a much better designed control interface - did not realize the latest firmware gives it all of the functionality of the Rio Forge! Definitely would recommend this for the price.

Got mine yesterday. Came with belt clip and arm band. Upgraded the firmware and tried a 1G SD card and it works like a charm.
