Is RIM [Blackberry] rumored to be working on a electric car or self-driving car?

I want my Blackberry Time(tm) wristwatch.

There are also rumors about the US government dumping mind control chemicals into the atmosphere, so there is that. I know your beloved Apple takes existing technology, and repackages it to be "cool", but I am not sure how it pertains to this thread.

Doesn't matter. How are you gonna sell a product by not knowing it at all. Not having Chrome even setup was a bad sign.

It's a version of Android that is very close to stock. What is there to sell? Android with hardware setup X will be wanted by Y people. The only thing driving quantity is the level of advertising. Advertising will sell it not the CEO. And I'm talking about Joe Consumer, not Joe Fanboy.

Just waiting for BlackBerry again for fail at making a good ad campaign.

Quick cuts of attractive people backed by modern music is what sells phones. Not features.

fuck, they just bought Good Technologies. 4 years ago we got rid of our BES server and supported everything but blackberry for our company devices.

our sales person came out yesterday and went over the new licensing policy for GOOD and that by next year we should plan on having a BB server back in our server room. FUCK YOU!

Update from company says 200 employees between Canada and Florida. Given they are almost certainly (unfortunately) planning to dump BB10 this is not really a surprise.

They just need to get out of consumer hardware completely and concentrate on the stuff that's either not too expensive to make or that they aren't getting killed in.

who buys blackberrys anymore? I know nobody who has one. and why would you buy one? brand loyalty?
People needing a phone for business. . They really are purpose built for communication bot games. . The only other person i know that has one has the passport and works on wall street.

Ya, its not made for 13 year old girls.

Everyone I know except for one person is on Android or iOS. And about half of them used to use Blackberry.

At my workplace many of my colleagues were forced to use Blackberries but they just said eff that and used their own money to buy iPhones. Eventually IT gave in and started supporting iPhones (and then Android). Once that happened, Blackberry has almost completely disappeared at my workplace.

Unfortunately they lost that train long ago. Businesses moved on to iPhone or Android. The one advantage they had, business, they lost.

Because they underestimated how juvenile the average American was in wanting a toy over an actual business device. Sad but true.

Yet you can be much more productive with those toys than on a blackberry because they didn't keep up software wise. Blackberry still can't be beat today type on but their software just couldn't keep up with anything modern.

Ah, I remember, the Blackberry "tools not toys" campaign... that came off as self-righteous and elitist. That helped their business.

Productive doing what exactly, playing minion rush like I do? Damn fun but nothing like communication with a real business device.
