Everyone seems to be doing this now...
You make a statement or observation and somebody listening to you says "Right?!" As in "I know what you mean."

Annoying.

/me waits for the "Right?" responses.

I always hear, "I know, right?"

I don't like that. But I don't like a lot of things. Like chicken on the bone.

I say it as an agreement with something... instead of saying "yes" or "yeah" or "exactly", etc.

2nd'd. Especially when someone asks a question and says "Right" to your response.

Dumbass: "I need your help. Is DDR2 compatible with DDR1?"
Righteous Prick: "No."
Dumbass: "Right."

Not only that, right? But people here are using it in regular sentence, right? So we're going to do this, right? And if we do, right? it's going to respond like this, right? But you can't have that response, right? because then it fails, right?

I guess the way I meant it was more like this:

Me: "There's no question that <insert name here> is the best quarterback ever, I mean look at all the awards/records/whatever he's won. I don't see how anyone can argue it!"
Response: "Right?"

It's their way of agreeing with you. In an annoying, "I want you to punch me in the face" way.

Why does it matter to you whether they use "right" , "correct", "i agree", or any other phrase to reflect agreement? Why do you have a preference for one over the other? Would you prefer if they just nodded their heads?

so there are no mannerisms, no phrases or personality traits that bother you at all?

Whats wrong with saying "right" as a response to something?

What pisses me off is when someone says it at the end of their own sentence..

i.e.

"Look at this guy over here, hes an idiot. Right?"

I'll give you that one too.
But apparently, from what I've learned now, its wrong to have annoyances.

The correct way to phrase it is: "I know, right!?"
