Just put together this new computer, no overclocking, cpu die is at about 51c at idle, gets up near 60 under heavier loads (RT 1 at 35-39). I've got the Codegen 6209 case (air duct for the cpu doesn't match up with where the heatsink & fan are, so I took the duct off), and ever since I finished the build and put the case back together, the fan is running constantly at top speed. It wasn't when I had the panels off, but I wasn't getting a temp reading then so I don't know what the difference is. Am I in a safe temp range?

Thats very high for that chip. Did you use the thermal heatsink material that
came with the unit or thermal grease like Artic silver. I would suggest useing
Artic silver compond instead of the oem stuff. It also sounds like you dont have enough
air circulation inside your case.

Thanks for the reply! I used the thermal material that came with the heatsink, and had to reposition it once or twice, so it probably reduced the amount that's actually there. I'll try the thermal grease you suggest, and maybe a second fan.
