It sounds like you have a bad ground circuit on the right rear light socket. Look for a black wire that runs into the trunk sheet metal or possible the ground is broken in the socket itself.

There's two ground wires on the left side of the trunk, neither look broken. I'll try changing the socket next and update this thread after... hopefully THAT will fix it 😉

A bad ground is one of the possible solutions. But I don't think it is broken. It is in the process of breaking or is loose at some point.

 
Finally fixed it. It was the ground wire in the socket... I got it welded for $5. 🙂 A new socket would have costed $30 to get done :Q
