How big is your monitor? I don't know that Crossfired 4870s are cost-effective. I've seen mixed things as far as scaling.

Pretty much everything you have selected is the overpriced overhyped version marketed at "gamers" to steal their precious $$$ by blinding them with numbers, buzzwords and useless add-ons.

You could get yourself the Q9300, a standard X48 motherboard, ditch the velociraptor and the gaming mouse pad (Seriously, a gaming mouse pad? With a laser mouse? Who are they kidding?), drop your memory down to a generic set of DDR2-800. Why get a HD-DVD Blu-Ray combo drive now that HD-DVD is dead?

For the cpu, how about a E8600? Will a standard x48 motherboard be good for overclocking?
My current pc already has xms2 ddr2 800. Also ive taken your advice and changed the combo drive to a pioneer bluray (with no hddvd).

Btw, u do know these are Australian prices?

If you're looking at a dual core you could drop down to the E8400 which sits quite nicely in the price/performance niche. A standard X48 motherboard should indeed be fine for overclocking, I think there are some recommendations for them in the sticky thread.

If your current PC has DDR2-800 you can re-use that, unless you want to buy more.
