The AK47. When you absolutely positively have to kill every motherfvcker in a room... accept no substitute
actually, I already have a SKS, which is very similar.
And even more useless....and I have both rifles in my collection. If you want a good hunting rifle then you should look at a nice bolt action unit with polymer stock and a scope. Take a look at Winchester and Remington. I would suggest either a 30-06 or 270 caliber.
Sorry, but IMO a .30-06 is not a good beginner gun. Especially for Wisconsin hunting.
OP- Which county? Some do not allow rifles.
Of course a 30-06 is fine for a beginning hunting rifle if the person in question is not a child. Adults don't need to start with a 243 and move up to a 30-06, this isn't a motorcycle. Any decent sized teenager should be able to handle a 30-06. My neighbor bought his 16 year old a 270 and he killed his first deer with it this season and a 270 has a very similar kick to a 30-06.
In Wisconsin a lot of deer hunting is shotgun with slugs only IIRC, but I have never lived there. Some places have different season times for different weapons.
I'm 21 for the record.
